These self-paced online learning courses cover an introduction to the Petroleum Industry and the core topics within Petroleum Engineering. Each course will give direction towards a specific topic, giving you the option to either drill-down on a chosen subject or take a dip into a quick tutorial for a recap or quick reference. Production Engineering
Our production engineering courses cover wellbore and reservoir performance for oil and gas wells and production prediction, including the design and diagnosis of artificial lift methods. Production Operations
These production operations courses cover a variety of topics for production and facilities engineers from production measurement, surveillance and analysis through to well integrity, intervention and stimulation and finishing with a review of production chemistry and flow assurance including surface processing and treatment. Reservoir Engineering
These courses cover the fundamental concepts of reservoir engineering, including fluid flow in reservoir formations, drive mechanisms, fractional flow, material balance and reservoir performance prediction. Integrated production systems
These courses cover the concepts and practical applications of building, matching, optimising and predicting performance of fully integrated production systems (reservoirs, wells and surface networks) using industry standard software such as Prosper, GAP and MBAL. Upon successful completion of a module (set of courses), a certificate will be issued. This can be used as evidence for requesting module exemption under Robert Gordon University’s Recognition of Certified Prior Learning (RCPL) when applying for entry to the M.Sc. in Petroleum Production Engineering. Please note undertaking these Baobab courses does not guarantee RPCL.
